Who We Are

Director's Bio - My name is Ashley Robertson and I am Director of the Early Childhood Department at DSC. I have been in Church Ministry since I was very young but have been directing for the past 7 years.

My background is in Early Childhood Development and I have an Infant/Toddle Certificate from Vanguard University of Southern California.

I believe that children are a gift from God and that what we teach them today will be our tomorrow.

I have been married to my husband Joshua for 7 years and we have 3 children ages 5, 3 and 1 year. Yes, they keep me very busy but I love every minute of it!

Should you have any questions please feel free to visit the department. I would love to be of assistance to you.
God Bless you and your families.

In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."

   What we're about
"...We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed."
1 Corinthians 15:51

Nursery & Classes are available for all children ages birth to Kindergarten.
We provide excellent care for all children during both Sunday morning services and also during special events.
Lead teachers are CPR and First Aid trained.
We offer curriculum for all classrooms and enjoy playing, caring and teaching your children about Jesus.
   SAfety
In the Early Childhood Department of DSC we make infants & children our priority. Children's safety is very important to us so here are some of the steps we take to ensure that to your families:

We have an Early Childhood Director on staff that oversees the teachers and volunteers.
All lead teachers in each classroom have been certified with the American Red Cross for CPR & First Aid.
We have paid workers on staff at Desert Springs Church that have gone through an interview process & background check. These workers are here on a weekly basis. This ensures that each child gets to know the workers and in turn helps with separation anxiety.
Each Volunteer has completed a thorough application. All have been trained in Nursery & Early Childhood procedures. Volunteers are overseen by the Early Childhood Director..
We encourage parents to volunteer on a rotating basis (parents will not be asked until they have attended the church for a minimum of 6 months). We also ask that they complete the Volunteer Application.

To check into the department
we ask that you complete a quick form on your child. This gives us important information regarding your child and any allergies that he or she may have. After completing the form you can sign your child in by filling out a label and placing this on your child's back. The other half of the label is yours to keep and to turn in upon the pick up of your child. We have a pager service available that will help us alert you during the worship service should we need you for any reason.

Your Child's Health

We operate a well-baby program. For the protection of all children we ask that you do not bring your child if he/she is showing symptoms of an illness. These include but are not limited to a runny nose, cough or a fever in the last 24 hours. This helps us keep a safe and healthy learning environment for all children. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our department a healthy place for us all.
